Edinburgh College of Art

Blake Group has supported art students for decades through supplying steel to future generations of sculptures.  Along with supplies, The Metal Centre often assists in cutting, folding and welding whilst teaching students how to use heavy industry equipment.  Our appointment to work on Evolution House is testimony to the strong ties Blake Group has with academia and in particular Edinburgh College of Art and the University of Edinburgh.
Ronnie Blake, Managing Director

Looking onto Edinburgh Castle, the new Evolution House is home to Edinburgh College of Art’s main library.  Located behind the main college building towards the famous old Grassmarket, visitors will immediately notice Blake Group’s craftsmanship across the building’s façade.

From balconies with brise soleils to handrails, balustrades and fencing, the Blake Group team manufactured and installed all architectural steel features.
