Position: Floor Manager
Location: 1 Seafield Way, Leith, Edinburgh
Department: Fabrication Centre
We are seeking experienced and highly motivated Floor Managers to oversee daily operations within our steel manufacturing facility. The candidate will be responsible for supervising production teams, ensuring safety compliance, maintaining quality standards, and achieving production targets in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment (steel industry experience preferred).
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Strong knowledge of industrial safety standards and production processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
As a floor manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities on the manufacturing floor.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Monitor production output to meet quality and efficiency targets.
- Lead, train, and motivate production staff to optimize performance.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and workflow processes.
- Identify and resolve operational issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with maintenance, quality control, and logistics departments.
- Maintain accurate production records and prepare performance reports.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity.
