It’s with mixed emotions that we say goodbye to our longest serving member of staff Angus (Gus) Smiles. Gus has been with Blakes for a period covering 43 years, having started his working life as an apprentice with us in 1963. Having served his apprenticeship, Gus moved on to work at the Robb shipyards in Leith before returning to Blakes in 1982, where he remained with us until last month.

All of us at Blakes wish Gus all the best for his retirement and look forward to him popping in from time to time.
