Foreign Exchange at Blakes

Paddy and the Metal Centre staff were surprised last week when two German students arrived at Bonnington asking if they could exchange a screwdriver!

The girls Sanne and Eva from Leverkusen were on a study trip to Edinburgh and engaged in a challenge to start with an apple and exchange and barter during the course of the day.

The winner from their group would be the team with items of the greatest value.

We never found out how they got on, however, they left Blakes with shirts, hats and a tape measure.

We hope they had a great trip and perhaps the hats have made it back to Germany for the winter!
