Blake’s Fabrication Team began delivery and installation of steelwork, for the final phase of Miller Home’s flagship development Varcity South, in Fettes, Edinburgh.
At Varcity South the former site for Telford College’s southern campus, Miller’s have delivered over 350 spectacular homes, comprising 1, 2 and 3 bed apartments, penthouses and, 4 and 5
bed townhouses since work began on sites in 2007.
End of the learning curve at Varcity
Blake’s have had a permanent presence on site since the pre-construction works and have manufactured and installed all the structural, secondary and architectural steelwork for the
project, including structural supporting steelwork, staircases, balustrades, fencing, cycle and refuse housing and balconies, such as those illustrated for the townhouses above. Our in-house carpenters manufactured and installed the decking, terraces and brise soleil also pictured.
Stuart Lindsay, Project Manager at Miller Homes stated:-
“I have worked with the Blake Group now on various developments for circa 10 years now. Mainly flatted developments with varying levels of steel work. From structural steel turrets to cantilever balconies etc and much more in between.

The final phase of this ground breaking project incorporates seven townhouses which are due to be marketed early next year. There are currently only a couple of two bedroom apartments remaining for purchase within the completed development.
