1st July 2014 marked the mandatory introduction of CE Marking for all fabricated steelwork under EN 9010-1.
Under the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) legal obligations have been placed on manufacturers, distributors and consumers of fabricated steelwork within the EU for products and purchases to be CE Marked where they are covered by either a harmonised standard or European Technical Assessment (ETA).
For fabricated structural steelwork, architects, engineers and contractors must ensure that their specifications state that only CE Marked products are used on their projects.
In order for a steelwork contractor to demonstrate their right to CE Mark their products, they must provide the following three documents:
1. Factory Production Control certificate (FPC) – issued by a notified body
2. Welding certificate – issued by a notified body
3. Declaration of Performance (DoP) – issued by the steelwork contractor
All steelwork produced and installed by Blake Group has been CE Marked since our accreditation in April 2014.
