Blake Group delivers temporary bridge to ‘The Bridge’

Blake Group has manufactured and installed a temporary bridge to provide access to the northern pier construction for the Queensferry Crossing.

The structure, which extends to more than 60 meters, allows direct access from the Fife shore to the northern pier cofferdam, removing costly barge movements for access and delivery of materials. This not only gives personnel access to the cofferdam but also allows for the delivery of materials including reinforcing steel and concrete to be undertaken directly from the shore providing time and cost savings.

The temporary bridge is now operational and is an obvious feature when travelling north across the existing Forth Road Bridge. It can be seen here with the final 20 Metre section being craned into place.
