The Blake Group is delighted to start the New year with good news as Richard Murphy’s house on Hart Street wins RIBA/Grand Designs House of the Year 2016.
As we reported in December, Richard had been shortlisted for the award and featured in two December episodes of Grand Designs which attracted audiences of millions.
Blakes have worked with Richard and his practice since the early 90’s on a variety of projects and were delighted to have assisted with the Murphy home.
Having celebrated their 25th anniversary in November 2016, this was the perfect icing on the cake for Richard and the team at RMA.
Richard Murphy commented:
‘Richard Murphy Architects are delighted to receive the award of RIBA House of Year for Richards own house on Hart St in Edinburgh.
The award is a culmination of a huge amount of effort not only for the office but for all involved in the project.
To achieve such high standards takes skill, care and attention and for Blake’s contribution towards this we would like to say Thank You’.

Blakes look forward to working with Richard on future projects and are enjoying basking in a little of RMA’s reflected limelight.
