Design of the unit is performed in-house using Solidworks 3D software. Both the bunded tank and generator are modelled, which ensures that all components match prior to manufacture. This also allows the client to view the whole assembly in 3D. This helps with many aspects of the project, such as cable routing and site installation.
The generator already has an in-built tank of 200 litres capacity, but the client required a 72 hour run time, (the equivalent of almost 1800 litres of diesel). There is also a limited space available on site, which rules out a traditional separate tank setup. A base tank (or skid tank as it is also known), therefore, solves the problem. Customising the tank allows for suction and return lines to be fully enclosed behind guard plates. This increases security to prevent disruption of service due to tampering.

Although the specification changed several times during production, they completed the tank on time, to a high standard and without any fuss. They then took delivery of the generator at their workshop, installed it onto the tank and allowed us to load test it right there in their workshop.
