National Museum of Scotland
The stunning extension to the National Museum of Scotland is another landmark project Blake Group was privileged to be a part of. Support was provided through the manufacturing and installation of internal stairs, screens and architectural metalwork features, our team were lucky to be an integral part of the development team.
Ronnie Blake, Managing Director
Designed by architects Benson + Forsyth and completed in 1999, the new Museum of Scotland extension to the National Museum was a runner up in the Stirling Prize.
The fortress-like exterior pays respect to Scotland’s architectural heritage through the introduction of spiral stairs, a tiered gallery colonnade with ironwork features and light and spacious atrium – all contributing to a sense of arrival.
