Johnston Oils Adds Value To Customer Service With New Steel Tank Product Range
Marking the opening of the 2011 Royal Highland Show, Scotland’s largest independent oil and LPG supply company Johnston Oils launched a new product range of steel oil tanks to offer complete fuel supply and safe storage solutions to customers.
Grant Lockie is Sales Manager at Johnston Oils, “We understand that for a lot of our customers the regulations and laws relating to oil storage can be both confusing and complicated whether oil is for domestic, agricultural, industrial or commercial use.”
“To ensure our customers don’t fall foul of the law we needed a quality tank product range that guarantee’s complete compliance with all Government regulations and so we are pleased to announce the launch of a range of ‘OFS T200’ steel tanks manufactured by Blake Group,” added Grant.
The tanks are kitted out to a special Johnston Oil specification but based on the OFS T200, the only tank type of its kind in the UK to be manufactured under licence and is certified by OFTEC, the Oil Firing Technical Association. Both the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency and the Environment Agency in England recommend OFS T200 bunded tanks in the Pollution Prevention Guidelines (PPG2).
A bunded tank is simply a tank within a tank so that if the primary tank was to fail the second tank would retain any leakage. This design ensures minimal risk of pollution and retention of the valuable oil stored as it can be transferred back into the primary tank once repaired.
Grant continues, “In 2010 there were a number of significant changes to Government guidelines for the safe storage of oil. To protect our customers from the risk of non-compliance with the law and to reduce the risk of environmental pollution we’ve launched this new tank product range at the Royal Highland Show.”
The standard bunded tanks are ideal for domestic use with top or bottom outlets whilst for agricultural and industrial sites tanks can be fitted with various accessories including pumps, hoses and triggers or even fuel management systems for vehicle, plant equipment and fleet refuelling. Capacities range from 1000Litres to 150,000Litres depending on the customers own requirements.
