OFS T200
What is OFS T200?
[Refers to steel tank manufacturing - generally for commercial & industrial use]
OFS T200 is the standard defined by OFTEC (Oil Firing Technical Association) for bunded steel oil storage tanks, and is the ONLY guarantee that a new tank will comply with the Control of Pollution (Oil Storage) (England) Regulations 2001, Water Environment (Oil Storage) (Scotland) Regulations and The Control of Pollution (Oil Storage) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2010.
OFS T200 integrally-bunded steel tanks are now highlighted by the Environment Agency (EA) and Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) as the recommended tank type to use in the Pollution Prevention Guidelines PPG2 which was revised in April 2010.
The OFS T200 standard strictly governs how the tank should be constructed, installed and maintained to ensure compliance.
Tank manufacturers wishing to offer OFS T200 certified tanks must satisfy rigorous OFTEC inspection procedures before being awarded the coveted OFCERT License Number – this should be displayed on a plate attached to every tank. Blake Group’s License Number is 07B69040202.
Some suppliers claim that their tanks ‘fully comply’ with the environmental regulations, but OFS T200 is your only ‘cast iron’ guarantee of compliance. If you are unsure of a supplier’s status, you should download and check OFTEC’s Approved Equipment Directory.
